6 Pack Bags Fitness Feature: Pastor Shane Higginbotham Pt. 1
Maintaining a killer body is no easy feat, and it's that much harder when your career is your life. Pastor Shane Higginbotham is no stranger to these difficulties, but with a 6 Pack gym backpack at his side, he has been able to stay organized, maintain his health, AND compete!
Pastor Shane is a married father of two who also happens to work 24/7. His story goes to show that no matter who you are and what you can do, a fit body and phenomenal physique can be yours too.
Staying motivated and keeping organized with his gym backpack has been a total lifesaver for Pastor Shane. 6 Pack Fitness sat down with the good pastor and discovered just how he was able to take his body to the next level.
Can you give me a little bit of a background on how long you've been training? Have you always been in shape?
About 8 years ago in Florida, I was in the Marine Corps. A friend of mine was helping me move and he was a body builder and he said, "Man, you're going to be a diabetic." I was like, "What are you talking about? I don't eat sugar." I was 199 lbs. and a little out of shape at that time because I was worried about pastoring, and he got me hooked on eating right. I didn't really get serious until about 5 years ago, when I moved to North Carolina to become Pastor at another pastorate. I started getting really serious about it. After cooking all the food and everything, it was hard to travel. I was off point, I never could. I had to stay close to home and then I found your bag about 2-3 years ago and I was like, man, I wish I would have had this [then]!
After I got this backpack, it helped me stay fit while I travel, and I travel a lot. No matter where I'm at, it just helps me stay on point. I take it to the ball field, when I go to church€¦ [sometimes] they think it's my briefcase but it's not, it's actually my meals! And they're like, "What in the world is that?!"
I had to admit that I wasn't to the point where I could really be in shape because I couldn't keep my meals organized. It was really frustrating because I really wanted to get this thing down pat because I knew it was all about eating. So when I got this [gym backpack] I was so happy. I can put it on my back and go to the gym, it's easy and it fits in the compartments when you're traveling. The easiest thing I love about it is that it stands upright. No matter how much you pack in it, it stands upright and doesn't fall over. It balances very well. That was one of the most frustrating things I had with other backpacks, was that [they] never balanced.
How did you originally find out about 6 Pack Bags?
It was through Facebook. When they started doing ads, it came across [my feed], and I started some research. I was like, "Man, that's it." And I've bought [at least] 4 of them for my friends, and even bought them and gave them away to people who are serious!
Good quote: If you don't eat right, it won't matter.
So that's what I get for my friends if they're serious, that's what they get for birthdays.
[The Pursuit backpack] is so awesome for the competitor side because it just has everything you need. It stands up, holds my trunks, my water, [and] all my food. The only thing I'd probably do different is I probably would go ahead and get the bigger one because it's worth the money. I've had other bags and coolers, [and] they don't work as well, they'll fall apart. I've [also] noticed something as I was doing research on your bags: I have beat the living crap out of my mine! I've taken it everywhere. I've flown back and forth with it, in and out of my truck, I've taken it to baseball fields/football fields when I take my kids, everywhere. [I've] checked on the material you guys use, [and] the other stuff that companies use. I've checked them out, and yeah, [they might be] good, but they're not as durable.
